College Football

College Football
This project was a pitch that we won late in 2008 to redesign the GFX package for the ESPNU College Football season. The creative brief was really open so we had a lot of freedom to explore multiple looks. In the end, the final product is exactly the same as how we pitched it. This might be the first project in Blue Room history that went down without a single revision.

In order to achieve this look, we had to roto countless plays from highlight footage and comp them together in this heavily layered black and white universe. All of the team colors, faces, names and numbers had to be non recognizable so the package can work for any matchup.

After Effects was our main tool in creating this package and Maya was only used to create the ESPNU button. This project was delivered completely as a toolkit for ESPN producers to manipulate. It was a combination of After Effects files and Matte & Fills that we delivered to work in conjunction with their in-house Smoke systems.
